History

1954

The Chair of Child Health, which is considered the beginning of Hacettepe Facultyof Medicine, was founded on February 2, 1954 by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı under the Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University.

1957

Hacettepe Children's Hospital opened.

1958

Hacettepe Children's Health Institute and its Children's Hospital started education, research and public service activities.

1961

Hacettepe School of Health Sciences was established within Hacettepe Institute of Child Health and started training in nursing, medical technology, physical therapy and rehabilitation.

1962

Education in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics started under the Hacettepe School of Child Health under the School of Home Economics.

1963

Hacettepe High School of Health Sciences has been turned into the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Basic Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy- Rehabilitation, Medical Technology and Health Technology Schools have been reorganized under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Hacettepe Medical Faculty was established as the second Medical Faculty of Ankara and the fourth in Turkey.

1963

The School of Dentistry was established under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

1965

Hacettepe Science Center was established to coordinate Hacettepe educational institutions.

1966

Hacettepe Medical Center was established, and Hacettepe Medical Center Hospital was opened.

1967

Hacettepe University was founded on July 8, 1967 with the Law No. 892. Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, Science and Social Sciences started their education.

1967

On 31.07.1967, Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı started his duty as the founder and first Rector of our University.

2017

Hacettepe University celebrated its 50th anniversary by being proud of its past and imagining the future.

Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

1961

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was founded by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı under the School of Nursing at Ankara University.

Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was connected to Ankara University School of Health Sciences.

1963

Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was connected to Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ankara University.

1964

Ankara University Hacettepe School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation was established.

1967

The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was established under the Rectorate of Hacettepe University.

2007

Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was connected to the Faculty of Health Sciences.

2019

Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was established.

Faculty of Fine Arts

1982

Faculty of Fine Arts was established.

Department of Painting, Sculpture Department and Applied Arts Department were established.

Faculty of Nursing

1961

It was founded by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı under the School of Nursing at Ankara University.

It was connected to Ankara University Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

1964

Ankara University Hacettepe School of Nursing was established.

1967

The School of Nursing was established under the Rectorate of Hacettepe University.

2007

Department of Nursing was connected to Faculty of Health Sciences.

The Faculty of Nursing was established.

Faculty of Health Sciences wasestablished. Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Department of Child Development, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Department of Nursing were connected to the Faculty of Health Sciences.

2009

Occupational Therapy Department was established.

2011

The Department of Audiology has been established.

2012

The Department of Nursing has left as a faculty.

2014

Language and Speech Therapy Department was established.

2019

Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, left as a faculty.

Faculty of Sports Sciences

1989

The Department of Sports Sciences and Technology was established within the Faculty of Education.

1992

The School of Sports Sciences and Technology was established.

2013

The Faculty of Sports Sciences was established.

Faculty of Medicine

1954

The Chairof Child Health was established under the Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University.

Vaccine Institute

2018

The Vaccine Institute was established as the first institute operating in the field of vaccines in our country.

Ataturk Institute

Ataturk Institute was established.

The Informatics Institute was established.

Institute of Child Health

1954

The Chair of Child Health was founded by Prof. Dr. Ihsan Doğramacı under Ankara University. Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı served as the Director of the Institute until he was appointed chairman of the Higher Education Council in December 1981.   

1958

Hacettepe Children's Health Institute and its Children's Hospital started their activities.

1961

Within Hacettepe Institute of Child Health, Nursing, Medical Technology, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation were opened.

1962

The Institute of Educational Sciences was established.

The programs of   the departments of Primary, Secondary Education, Science and Mathematics Education, Foreign Language Education, Computer and Instructional Technologies Education and Educational Sciences, which were carried out within the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Science, were connected to the Institute of Educational Sciences.

Graduate School of Science and Engineering

1967

Postgraduate Education Faculty was established. Postgraduate education programs in the field of science and engineering started within the Faculty of Postgraduate Education.

1982

The Institute of Science was founded.

Institute of Fine Arts

2012

The Institute of Fine Arts was founded. 12 departments and 30 programs carried outwithin the Institute of Social Sciences were transferred to the Institute of FineArts.

Institute of Public Health

1954

Ankara University Institute of Scientific and Social Research in Child Health was founded by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı.

1957

Hacettepe Children's Hospital, which is affiliated with AnkaraUniversity, was opened.

1961

Within Hacettepe Institute of Child Health, Nursing, Medical Technology, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation were opened.

1963

Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Institute of Clinical Sciences and Institute of Community Medicine were established.

1981

The Institute of Community Medicine has been closed. Within the Faculty of Medicine, the Department of Public Health was established instead of the Department of Community Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine.

1992

The Institute of Public Health was established.

Cancer Institute

1982

The Cancer Institute was founded.

Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry

1982

Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry was established.

Institute of Population Studies

1967

The Institute of Population Studies was established.

Institute of Nuclear Sciences

1982

The Institute of Nuclear Sciences was established.

Graduate School of Health Sciences

1967
