Hacettepe University is one of the leading research universities with its qualified researcher profile. In our university, more than 4000 researchers working in various academic positions, 16 faculties, 15 institutes, 4 vocational schools, 1 conservatory, and more than 90 centers for application research. A noteworthy part of the academic staff has taken part in prestigious universities of the world at a certain period of their careers. They transfer their knowledge and experience to our university. The qualified researchers from different disciplines provide a suitable environment for multidisciplinary scientific studies at our university.

In academic staff appointments, detailed criteria for evaluating scientific research performance are applied. In this criteria, the outcomes of scientific studies have an important place. . In the evaluation process of research performance, the quality of the outputs is emphasized rather than the quantity. This situation directs the current academic staff to a unique and competitive research environment. In the appointments of the faculty members, priority is given to the qualified publications that are generally accepted in the international scientific community. For the positions of faculty members, there is a requirement to have published in internal journals such as SCI, SSCI and A&HCI.

Hacettepe University is one of the most successful research universities in our country. Researchers who work at Hacettepe University have implemented many research projects in collaboration with successful researchers from national and international organizations. Hacettepe University ranks first among all state and foundation universities in our country in terms of the number of research articles, which are the most important results of scientific research. Many academicians awarded by institutions such as TÜBİTAK and TÜBA work at our university.

Faculty members of Hacettepe University have won 62 TÜBİTAK Incentives, 17 TÜBİTAK Science, 7 TÜBİTAK Public Service, 2 TWAS awards and a total of 88 TÜBİTAK awards. In addition, our faculty members have received 24 TÜBA GEBİP awards and 1 BAGEP award. Moreover, faculty members of our university have received more than 50 prestigious awards, such as UNESCO, Vehbi Koç, Sedat Simavi, L’Oreal Science Woman, Eczacıbaşı and Novartis. Hacettepe University continues to make important contributions to science with its researchers with a high h-index among Turkish scientists.

Academicians of our university have undertaken managerial or consultancy duties in important institutions of our country that science and technology. Hacettepe academic staff hold senior management positions in national and international Professional/scientific governmental organizations.

Hacettepe University has the most developed international research network in our country. The work of Hacettepe researchers in scientific cooperation with respected institutions from the world’s leading countries in science continues to increase every year. Through international databases, the impact of international collaborations on the quality and quantity of Hacettepe University publications can be easily monitored. The countries with the most cooperation in research articles published by Hacettepe University are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
